ISLAMABAD: A petition has been lodged with Supreme Court of Pakistan against the disclosure of Abbottabad Commission’s findings, Geo News reported.
The petitioner, Shahid Orakzai, in his plea says the report to come will have many lacunas in it as the commission has overlooked scores of key factors, thus it should not be released unless all the holes were plugged.
“The commission has not worked on important testimonies, thus the production of important documents before the court should be allowed”, the petitioner said in the plea.
The plea also argues that the commission have been shy of identifying those officials of the state who were in the loop about the US army incursion inside Pakistan but kept the Pakistani military in dark until it was all over.
Another point the petition raised was commission’s leniency towards Husain Haqqani, the former envoy to US, with regard to his meetings with British military officials.
The plea also draws attention to the fact that the name of Husain Haqqani’s wife Farah Naz Asfahani was used as a codeword in the Blackberry conversations between US business tycoon, Mansoor Ijaz, and Haqqani.
Keeping it view the aforementioned details the court must note that Farah Naz, who is not a Pakistani citizen, was working as adviser to President of Pakistan by the time Americans attacked Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, the plea added.
