KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday visited mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 136th birth anniversary and offered fateha and laid floral wreath at the grave, Geo News reported.
The President also wrote his comments in the visitors’ book.
Federal Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and provincial ministers Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq and Syed Murad Ali Shah accompanied the President.
Earlier, change of guards ceremony was held here at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah. A smartly turned out contingent from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul took over the duties at the mausoleum of the Quaid from Pak Air Force Guards this morning. Commandant Pakistan Military Academy Kakul Major General Sadiq Ali was the chief guest on this august occasion. He laid floral wreath and offered ‘fateha’.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also visited the mausoleum after the change of guard.
A large number of people in Karachi also visit the mausoleum to pay tribute to the father of the nation.
