LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab continued to boycott government hospitals across Punjab including Lahore even on the third day following the arrest of several doctors in Gujranwala, Geo News reported on Friday.
The doctors have boycotted the indoor departments, out patient departments and operation theatres, however, emergencies are still functional.
Punjab Health Ministry has suspended the holidays of medical superintendents and administrative doctors, entrusting them the duties of young doctors. The ministry has strictly instructed to delegate the duties to adhoc and contractual doctors so that the emergency wards remain functional.
The YDA went on strike after the arrest of doctors who tortured Dr Anwar Aman, Medical Superintendent (MS) of Gujranwala District Headquarters Hospital.
