Quetta: Alamdar Road blast footage shows bomber
QUETTA: Geo News has acquired the CCTV footage of Alamdar Road blast, which ripped through a packed snooker club resulting in the deaths of more than 80 people last week.

Footage shows a bustling market area around Rehmatullah Chowk on Alamdar Road with people hanging out at the evening eateries or going about their businesses as usual.

Things look fine until a man walks into a snooker club around the corner where dozens of young men are playing pool for recreation after a long hard workday. He blends in without a problem. He doesn’t look suspicious at all, although he is a walking human bomb. His homework is good. As soon as he settles down inside the hall, humming with the chatter of carefree cueists, sounds of cue-sticks hitting the balls, he detonates those several kilograms of high-grade explosives strapped to his body. The snooker club becomes a slaughterhouse within no time. That’s what the investigators envision may have happened in there.

With a deafeningly loud bang, the building that housed the club comes down crashing on the pool players inside, most of them dead by then, the footage shows.

The power of the explosion could be measured by the fact the shockwave it generated was so massive that it sent the main-gate of the club flying onto the road, which hit a motorcyclist riding past the building.

The footage further shows dozens of rescue workers jumping into action on the blast site.

SHO of police, Jaafar Ali, who was killed in the second blast that came about ten minutes after the first one, could also be seen getting out of his patrol car in the footage acquired by Geo News.
