OTTAWA: Canadian authorities summoned Tehrik e Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on February 5 to explain a violation of the oath he had taken while seeking asylum there.
Qadri had sought asylum in Canada in 2008, saying there were threats to his life.
TMQ chief ended his protest launched in Islamabad aimed at ousting the government after he signed an agreement with a government team on Thursday.
However, TMQ’s spokesman Qazi Faiz Islam talking to Geo news denied the reports, saying that Tahirul Qadri never make false claims with the Canadian authorities.
The reports regarding summoning of Qadri by Canadian authorities are baseless, he added.
