Punjab Young Doctors continue to boycott OPDs
LAHORE: Young doctors Association (YDA) Punjab chapter is continuing with the strike on the fourth consecutive day in the out patient departments (OPDs) of public hospitals across Punjab, Geo News reported on Saturday.

The doctors continue to examine patients in camps set up outside the hospitals though the hospital administration has refused to provide medicines or run tests prescribed to the patients by the young doctors.

On the other hand, Punjab Health Ministry has started to take action under Punjab Employees Efficiency Discipline and Accountability (Peeda) Act and issued notices to doctors including President of Punjab YDA, Dr Jawaid Aheer. According to the ministry, OPDs continue to function as usual in public hospitals.

However, young doctors remain unperturbed and said that government can continue with implementing Peeda Act after exercising transfers and dismissals of doctors, but they will not call off the strike.
