BAHAWALPUR: Owners of the CNG stations in Bahwalpur region have started selling the gas in sheer violation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority decision to close the CNG outlets in the region, Geo News reported.
Regional Manager Sui Northern Gas Bahawalpur Ikram Sheikh said as many as 20 gas stations were found selling the fuel late night illegally. He said owners and employees of a CNG station located at Dubai Chowk tortured the staff of the SNGPL who reached there to stop the illegal sale of the gas.
He said that the staff was not only tortured but their vehicles were also damaged by the station employees.
The OGRA had announced that the CNG stations would remain closed in the region till Jan 31.
