ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has received the deceased National Accountability Bureau (NAB) assistant director Kamran Faisal’s cellular phone data from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to a PTA spokesman, the authority submitted the data on the behest of top court’s registrar.
“We were tasked to collect the record of mobile phone, which was in Kamran Faisal’s use by the time of his death, put it on the paper and then hand it over to SC”, said the spokesman.
The data includes the details of all the incoming as well as outgoing calls (call log), all the text messages sent/received through Short Messaging Service (SMS), etc.
Faisal, who was engaged in the investigation of Rental Power Plants (RPPs)scandal, was mysteriously found dead in his room in the Federal Lodges on Jan 18.
He was found hanging from the ceiling fan when the NAB officials broke into his room, the people who witnessed the scene said.
