LAHORE: Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) has announced to hold a peace march in Karachi on March 3, 2013.

DPC Chairman Maulana Samiul Haq, talking to media at Mansoora on Monday after the summit meeting of the DPC parties, said that the DPC was an alliance of parties having public representation and it must be taken into confidence for the nomination of the Prime Minister and about the interim set up.

He said the nomination of someone who defied "Two Nation Theory" and the Pakistan ideology as interim Prime Minister would be strongly resisted.

He said, the DPC wanted peace all over the country including Karachi and it had held an All Parties Conference in Karachi for the restoration of peace.

He, however, said that Karachi could not be left at the sweet will of any individual, and added that the DPC would hold another Peace March in Karachi on March 3. He invited Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Husain to support the DPC for the restoration of peace in Karachi and for national stability.

He also urged the nation to observe February 5, as Solidarity Day with their Kashmiri brethren. He said the DPC would hold Solidarity march at Muzaffarabad, on February 4 besides another march and public meeting in Lahore on February 5, in this regard.

The DPC chairman said India was the sworn enemy of Pakistan, therefore, expecting any good from it was the height of foolishness as was being done by the rulers in Islamabad under US pressure. He said the spinelessness of the rulers had emboldened the Indian ruling junta, which was daring to attack our borders. He said the DPC had tried time and again to portray India’s real face to the rulers but to no
avail.

However, he said, that recently, India’s Foreign and Internal Ministers as well the Indian Foreign Secretary had divulged the truth in regard to the presence of extremist Hindu groups on the Indian soil.

However, he said, despite that, Pakistani rulers were not inclined to change their outlook and had made up their mind to declare India as our Most Favored Nation. He said the DPC strongly condemned the move.

He said that as many as sixty Pakistani Muslims had been burnt alive in the Samjotha train fire.

Maulana Samiul Haq said that if the US really wanted peace in the region, it should immediately pull out and stop drone attacks. He noted that the US had abandoned its war policy in the rest of the world but US President Obama had announced continuation of drone attacks in Pakistan. He said the US presence in the region was the main cause of terrorism and lawlessness in the area.

Those who attended the meeting included Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, Jamat al Dawa chief, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Jamaat Ahle Sunnat chief, Allama Muhammad Ahmed Ludhyanvi, Lt Gen. Hamid Gul, and Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan.
