Punjab Govt. sacks 55 more doctors

LAHORE: Punjab government’s health department Saturday sacked 55 more doctors on persistent absence from duty, following the terminations of as many as 90 doctors on Friday on same ground.

While departmental proceedings are underway against another lot of 295 doctors, Geo News reported.

Punjab health department claimed that the 55 doctors sacked today were absent from duty for the last one and a half year, who were first served show cause notices, but they didn’t come back on duty.

The officials said that departmental proceedings are underway against another lot of 295 doctors on similar charges.

Punjab health department claimed that the sacking of the doctors has no relevance with the young doctors’ strike.
