Qadri has reservations on PML-Q proposals for assemblies dissolution

LAHORE: Tehrik Minhajul Quran Leader, Dr Tahir ul Qadri Saturday said he had reservations over Pakistan Muslim League-Q's recommendations for dissolution of assemblies.

He was addressing a press conference along side PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after their meeting here.

Dr Qadri said he had only raised some Constitutional questions in his petition filed to the Supreme Court, seeking reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). "How can an Election Commission that was not formed under the Constitution would be able to hold transparent elections?" he asked.

He said the nominations for the caretaker set up will be finalized in his meeting with Law Minister Farooq H Naek and Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira next week.

Tahir ul Qadri announced that he would hold public rallies in Gujranwala on February 5, Faisalabad on 17 and Multan on 22.
