ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran leader Tahirul Qadri said Monday that dual nationals cannot contest elections but can cast their vote.
Speaking to the media after appearing before the Supreme Court for the hearing of his petition filed for the reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Qadri said the Chief Justice had asked him about being a Canadian national and he would submit the law pertaining to it before the court on Tuesday. Qadri said he would give his detail response after the notification of the law was submitted.
According to Qadri, the Canadian passport was a document for him to obtain quick visas to other countries.
