ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court hearing of Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s petition praying for the reconstitution of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will resume here today (Tuesday), Geo News reported.
Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran chief Tahirul Qadri is expected to submit documents pertaining to his Canadian citizenship along with the submissions justifying his right to file petition for the reconstitution of ECP.
SC three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is hearing this case.
It may be recalled that Dr. Qadri during hearing yesterday told the court that he has the dual nationality of Pakistan and Canada, while the court in its observation said that how could some one who has taken oath for the loyalty of other country file a petition for the reconstitution of ECP.
The court had thereafter directed Dr. Qadri to submit a comprehensive reply regarding his right to file petition and documents relating to his Canadian citizenship.
