PHC CJ takes suo motu notice on Peshawar target killings

PESHAWAR: Chief Justice of Peshawar High court (PHC) has taken suo motu notice of rising incidents of target killings in the provincial capital and summoned home secretary and capital city police officer (CCPO) on February 14.

According to details, the Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan took suo motu action on rising incidents of target killings in Peshawar. Justice Dost Muhammad Khan issued notices to Inspector General (IG) police, Home Secretary KPK and CCPO Peshawar.

In past few weeks Doctors and a senior lawyer of High Court were shot dead by unidentified outlaws after which lawyers boycotted the court proceedings and protested against killing of the senior lawyer.
