Road mishaps in Sahiwal, Chichawatni, Faisalabad kill 14

SAHIWAL/CHICHAWATNI/FAISALABAD: Three roadside mischances resulted in the deaths of at least 14 passengers and hospitalization of near 30 here on Tuesday night, Geo News reported.

Rescue sources said a passenger bus en route to Raiwaind ran into a trailer near Multan Road Chowki Bypass killing ten of the travelers on board and injuring 16 more. Reportedly the fateful bus had started its journey from Multan somewhere around midnight but met with an accident near Sahiwal.

In another tragedy at least three of a family succumbed to a head-on-collision between a jeep and a car on Burewala Road near Chichawatni. At least four people were also injured critically in the mishap.

Later in the wee hours of Wednesday a bus barreling along on Jhang Road rammed into a van as it entered Faisalabad. According to rescue sources the accident claimed bus driver's life, while it left at least ten passengers in dire need to medical care.

The dead and injured were shifted to hospitals.
