LONDON: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf telephoned Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and inquired after his health, Geo News reported.
Both the leaders also discussed political situation prevailing in the country with special focus on upcoming general election and caretaker set up.
The premier told the MQM supremo that allied parties would be taken into confidence before finalizing nomination for the post of caretaker prime minister.
He said he would soon write a latter to Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly for consultation over the caretaker set up, adding that all the possible steps would be taken to ensure free and fair election.
During the telephonic conversation, Mr Hussain said; “We all want that election should be free and fair with Election Commission completely impartial and honest so that nobody can raise finger.”
Altaf Hussain also discussed with the prime minister law and order situation and acts of terrorism in different cities.
