ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said Sunday that the Palestinians and Kashmiris had been deprived of their right to self-determination.
Addressing a gathering held in the honour of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, President Zardari added that the day was not far when Palestine would be recognized as a full member state by the United Nations.
The President reiterated that the Pakistani people stood by their Palestinian brothers and the international community should take concrete steps to solve the crisis. President Zardari also condemned Israel’s violations of international laws.
Palestinian President Abbas said that despite Israeli tactics, Palestinians continued with their struggle for freedom.
Acknowledging the support of Pakistan to Palestine in international forums particularly during the voting in the General Assembly to upgrade status of the State of Palestine into an observer state status, he reiterated that Palestine will continue to work hard to achieve their right to freedom and independence by ending the accumulated suffering of Palestinian refugees through 65 years of homelessness.
