KARACHI: Over a dozen sit-ins were being held in different parts of Karachi on Monday on the call of the Shia Ulema Council over the Quetta tragedy that claimed at least 89 lives.

Shops and markets were shut across the city while traffic was also thin. All private schools were also closed in the metropolis.

A sit-in was staged on the railway track in Malir Town which had led to affecting the schedule of trains travelling to and from the city.

The demonstrators demanded to launch targeted operation against the terrorists and to arrest culprits involved in the killings of Hazara community in Quetta.
