KARACHI: Nationwide protest sit-ins against Quetta blast that killed at least 89 people belonging to Shia Hazara community started ending overnight after a midnight media briefing of Majlis Wahdat-ul Muslimeen in which the organization said the bodies of the blast victims would be laid to rest at 9:00 am today (Wednesday).
In Karachi, participants of sit-ins that crippled daily life over the last couple of days in the metropolis started leaving for their homes after the announcement.
According to Geo News reports, sit-ins at Clifton, Malir, Star Gate Tower and Numaish have been ended.. However, protesters in Ancholi, Rizvia and Abbas Town said they would continue their sit-ins until the bodies of the blast victims were buried.
Protest in Lahore areas of Thokar Niaz Baig, Imamia Colony, Airport Road, Ferozpur Road and other areas were also called off and participants peacefully dispersed.
The sit-ins against the massacre and show solidarity with Hazara community were also ended in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
