MQM resignations not yet accepted: Nisar Khuhro

KARACHI: Acting Sindh Governor, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro Saturday said the resignations tendered by ministers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have not yet been accepted and that this matter would now be dealt with on coming Monday.

Talking to media persons after performing the opening of Livestock exhibition at Karachi Expo Centre, Nisar Khuhro said in politics doors for negotiation are always kept open.

It is pertinent to mention here that MQM ministers had submitted their resignations following the party's decision to part its ways with the Pakistan People's Party-led government.

He said the Local Government Act of 1979 had to be revived after Sindh People's Local Government Act 2012 faced public opposition.

Nisar Khuhro said it was the routine business of the assembly to pass or scrap a law.
