HYDERABAD: The traffic was jammed around the Hyderabad bypass for four hours Saturday when it was blocked Sunni Tehreek (ST) protesters against the targeted killings of its workers.
Led by provincial leader of Sunni Tehreek (ST) Khalid Hassan Attari, the ST workers staged the sit-in on the bypass calling for stiff action against the terrorists involved in the killings of innocent people and party workers and leaders in Karachi.
The protesters strewed stones on a stretch of around half a kilometer of the bypass to obstruct the traffic.
According to Motorway Police, the traffic remained suspended around the bypass from around noon till 04:00 PM.
Addressing the protesters, Attari said scores of ST workers and leaders had been gunned down in Karachi and in other cities and urged the government to take the killers to task. (APP)
