OKARA: The Punjab Farmers Union (PFU) has announced to end its over 16-hour long sit-in against power loadshedding and high electricity bills, Geo news reported.
Earlier, the protestors blocked G.T. Road in Okara and staged an over 16-hour long sit-in resulting in queues of vehicles including ambulances that stretched for miles on surrounding roads while motorists including a large number of children and women were stuck in the ensuing traffic jam..
The protesters also affected railway traffic as they a staged sit-in on the railway track earlier on Friday.
DPO Dr Haider Ashraf held talks with the demonstrators and assured the fulfillment of all their demands after which PFU announced to end its sit-in.
