Pakistan beat New Zealand 4-3 in the opening match of the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament on Saturday at Ipoh.
Mohammad Irfan scored three goals for Pakistan while a fourth was scored by Abdul Haseem.
Pakistan now face Australia on Sunday.
