KARACHI: The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) is holding a rally in the city to express solidarity with party chief Altaf Hussain and protest statements made against him by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
The rally which started at MQM headquarters Nine-Zero will pass through Liaqatabad No. 10, Hasan Square, National Stadium, Karsaz, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Nursery and Shahrah-e-Quaideen on its way to the Quaid’s mausoleum.
MQM workers are also protesting against statements made by Imran Khan against Altaf Hussain in major cities of the country.
In Islamabad the protest was held outside the National Press Club, while in Lahore MQM workers in Punjab protested outside the press club.
MQM workers in Lahore chanted slogans against Imran Khan and expressed their solidarity with Altaf Hussain. Member MQM Executive Committee Bisma Sukhera said her party had supported the operation against terrorists while Imran Khan wanted the operation to be a failure.
A protest by MQM workers was also held outside the press club in Multan. Protesters were carrying placards supporting Altaf Hussain. They said Imran Khan had levelled baseless allegations against the MQM and party chief Altaf Hussain.
