Petition challenging Rehman Malik eligibility filed in SC

KARACHI: A petition has been moved in the Supreme Court challenging eligibility of Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

Syed Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi filed petition in the apex court, making Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate respondents.

The petition contended that Rehman Malik lied to the court and the Election Commission, and contested election for senate seat on false affidavit.

The chairman senate wouldn’t take any action despite the court orders against Malik, it added.

The petitioner sought from the court to include the name of Rehman Malik on Exit Control List and to put lifetime ban from contesting elections.
