SC orders action against fake degree holders in 2 days
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan, while hearing the fake degree case, has ordered action against all the fake degree holders in two days Tuesday, Geo News reported.

During today’s proceedings, the court sought details of the fake degree cases underway in the subordinate courts and ordered the concerned authorities to take action against the forged degree holders within two days.

On the occasion, Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Ishtiaque Ahmed told the court that the ECP is already acting against the bogus degree holders and pleaded for two more days to complete the action.

Currently, ECP is in the process of verifying the degree of 1,170 representatives who were elected in the 2008 elections.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chudhry remarked that the voters should know everything about the candidates. On this, the Secretary ECP said that the nomination papers of the candidates will be published on the website.

The CJ continued saying that the court has now set the filter that will restrict the wrong people during the verification process. People have gained awareness now and they know who to vote for, CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry said.

The CJ praised the step of verifying about the candidates from the State Bank of Pakistan and National Bank.
