ASI killed, 3 injured in Mardan blast

MARDAN: A policeman was killed and three others including a station house officer (SHO) injured in a blast that occurred in Katlang Bazaar area of Mardan Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to DIG Mardan Jaffar Khan, two suicide bombers were riding a motorbike when police force started chasing them.

Exchange of fire took place between the bombers and security personnel during which one of the suicide bombers got injured who later blew himself. The other bomber is hiding in a house who was hit by a bullet.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Khushdil Khan was martyred in the encounter while three others including an SHO were wounded.

DIG Mardan Jaffar Khan told that a search operation in the area is underway after the incident.
