ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued orders to the immigration officials to prohibit former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf from leaving Pakistan.
According to the directives, Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, who had returned to Pakistan last Sunday from a self-imposed exile, will not be allowed to embark on a journey outside Pakistan from any airport.
The FIA has issued written directives to the immigration officials to ensure that the former president does not leave the country.
Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, after coming back to Pakistan, held a press conference and formally announced that his party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), will take part in the upcoming general elections scheduled to be held on May 11 from across the country.
He is planning to run for NA-250, one of the National Assembly seats in Defence area of Karachi.
