PESHAWAR: One person was killed and four others including three minors were injured when three mortar rounds fired from unknown direction, struck an urban area here on Friday.
According to the police, three mortar rounds fired from unknown direction landed in Hayatabad Phase VI, a posh area of Peshawar.
As a result one Muhammad Tahir Shah was killed, while four others including three children namely Sajid, Sana, and Tufail sustained injuries.
The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital for medical treatment.
According to police, one of the shells fell near Nawab Market, a very busy commercial center in Hayatabad.
Soon after the incident police and officials of Bomb Disposal Squad reached the area to search/collect forensic evidence.
The area was thoroughly combed, however, no arrest were made.
