LHC suspends stay order against collection of Fuel Adjustment Charges
LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday suspended its stay order against collection of Fuel Adjustment Charges by power distribution companies.

A single bench of the learned court had declared collection of the charges from the consumers using up to 350 units as illegal and stopped companies concerned from collecting such charges.

The FESCO and others had filed petition against the order and held that the consumers were not only consuming the 350 units for bulbs and fans but the electricity was being used for operating luxury appliances.

The division bench today set aside the stay order of the single bench, allowing collection of the charges from April 1. The court adjourned the hearing till April 22.
