Guard confesses to killing Karachi SHO

KARACHI: The gunman of former Station House officer (SHO) of the Preedy Police Station has confessed to killing the officer, Geo News reported Thursday.

The gunman said he shot dead the SHO after the officer hurled abuse at him.

Earlier, DIG Shahid Hayat Khan had said investigation into the murder of the SHO, Inspector Agha Asadullah, revealed that he was shot dead by his own gunman, Head Constable Pervez, who has been detained for questioning.

Pervez said that the police that he was attached with Asadullah for the past one year. Late Tuesday night, Pervez and Asadullah were heading for checking near Murshid Bazaar.

Pervez was in the backseat. A bullet was mistakenly fired from Pervez’s official sub-machine gun and the bullet hit Asadullah in the head and he succumbed to his injuries at the Civil Hospital Karachi., the DIG had told media.
