SC hears petitions seeking treason trial against Musharraf
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) heard the petitions seeking treason trial against former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf Monday, Geo News reported.

A two-judge bench comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif heard the case. During today’s proceedings, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja remarked that it has been four years since July 31, 2009 order was issued and the court wanted to know what did the federation do in that regard.

He continued saying that the court will issue notice to the federation and not to the attorney general. The federation can ask any one to appear.

The lawyer of the petitioner A.K. Dogar has requested to replace the advocate on-record. While presenting his arguments, Dogar said that the advocate on-record has asked to withdraw the petition without the directives of the petitioner.

The court, then, adjourned the hearing till 11.30 am.
