ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) has demanded of the federal government to get a case registered under Article 6 of the Constitution against former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
Speaking on a point of order during the Senate proceedings Thursday, ANP senator Zahid Khan called for the federal government to have Pervez Musharraf booked under Article 6 of Constitution.
He asked the caretaker government on whose orders it had provided so much security to Pervez Musharraf and demanded an immediate suspension of Inspector General Islamabad.
Zahid Khan said action should also be taken under Article 6 against Rangers for helping Pervez Musharraf flee from the court earlier on Thursday.
“An elected prime minister was sent home after being sentenced to a 30-second detention while a mockery of the system was made for the world to see by providing extra-ordinary security to a dictator,” he regretted.
