TANDO ALLAH YAR: Saying that he had just raised a question on the performance of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) 5-year government, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Mian Nawaz Sharif, Monday denied attacking President Asif Ali Zardari’s person in any way, Geo News reported.
“Mine was a simple question. I just asked him what good did PPP do to the people of Pakistan in the last 5 years. Did law & order prevail in Sindh? Did they bring the jobless rate in the province down to zero? Absolutely not”, said he addressing a mammoth election rally here.
They had not kept any of the promises they made five years back, he added.
He said people should not forget that PML-N sacrificed its government just to save Sindh from plunging into anarchy in the wake of Hamdard Foundation founder Hakim Saeed’s murder.
Going forward he said that PML-N was ready to lay down everything for the sake of Pakistan.
PML-N leader said that PPP government tenure was an era of darkness and atrocities, however, after coming into power, his party would rid the country of load shedding, loans, and lawlessness.
He added that it was his government, which brought an end to the "dacoitdom" in rural Sindh back in the day, which was not an easy task.
“New era of prosperity will begin in Sindh. The province will become a cradle of peace. Tando Allahyar will become a model district as soon as we take the helms of state,” said he.
He said the previous Punjab government distributed laptop computers among shining students but why did the former chief minister of Sindh never thought of such a scheme in his province.
He said that PML-N would change the destiny of the country restoring peace especially in Karachi and the restive Balochistan.
Nawaz said to him politics was a divine service that was why the PML-N always served people, established rule of law and strengthened state institutions whenever it came to power.
