BOSTON: The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings has revealed that American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan motivated him and his brother to carry out the bombings at the Boston Marathon, the American newspaper reported.
According to the Washington Post, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, who is responding to interrogators from his hospital bed, has acknowledged his role in the bombings. The attack killed three people and wounded more than 170 others.
Though injuries he sustained as he tried to avoid capture have left him unable to speak, he has been writing down answers or nodding yes and no as authorities question him.
It does not appear that he and his older brother, Tamerlan, who was killed in a shoot-out with police, were directed by a foreign terrorist organization, the newspaper added. (Monitoring Desk)
