SC hears IGP appeal in Musharraf escape case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan is hearing a plea moved by the Inspector General Islamabad Police against Islamabad High Court orders, seeking action against the top cop.

The application stated that the high court had ordered Interior Secretary to take action against the IG and submit report within 24 hours. Abdul Aziz, counsel for the IGH told prayed the court to issue a stay order as the high court was also hearing a case involving the IGP.

A March 23 order of the court was also submitted to the court by the IG. The Justice Jawad S. Khuwaja is heading a three-judge bench to hear the case.
