ISLAMABAD: The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad has issued the notice to conduct the trial of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf at his Chak Shahzad farmhouse declared as sub-jail in judges detention case, Geo News reported Saturday.
The anti-terrorism court in Islamabad heard the judges’ confinement case today where the lawyers representing Pervez Musharraf requested to exempt their client from appearing in the court for hearing.
They were of the view that the security agencies had not done adequate arrangements for the trial at Chak Shahzad farmhouse after the Chief Commissioner Islamabad had ordered trial at sub-jail. Therefore, the lawyers pleaded to grant exemption to Musharraf from appearing in the court.
Following the court’s directive, the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad issued the notice of the trial to be conducted at Chak Shahzad farmhouse.
The petition was filed by lawyers Raja Rizwan Abbasi, Imran Feroze and Zia ur Rehman.
