HANGU: At least twelve people were killed and several injured when a blast occurred in the main market of Hangu where a corner meeting of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) was about to take place, Geo News reported Tuesday.
According to police, a blast occurred in the main market area of Tehsil Doaba in Hangu. A corner meeting of JUI-F candidate Mufti Syed Janan was about to take place near the blast venue, allegedly targeted it.
Sources also told that the blast occurred near JUI-F candidate’s vehicle but fortunately he remained safe in the attack.
Rescue teams are transferring the bodies and injured to the hospital.
Further details about the nature of blast are yet to be ascertained.
