Protest calls: Roads leading to KPC, Governor House closed

KARACHI: The roads adjoining Karachi Press Club and Governor House have been closed by the law enforcement agencies in the backdrop of protests called by two political parties Monday, Geo News reported.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has called for a protest at Karachi Press Club (KPC) at 3 pm today while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will also be protesting at 5 pm at the same venue.

Therefore, Karachi police has blocked the roads leading to KPC and Governor House to avoid any untoward situation.however, additional contingents of security forces have not been deployed yet.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan had announced peaceful protest demonstrations against the killing of Zahra Shahid and appealed to the people of Karachi to participate in the protest today.

Imran had blamed MQM chief for the killing of Zahra Shah while MQM is set to protest against his stance.
