FAISALABAD: A man allegedly set his wife on fire on early Monday morning over domestic disputes leaving her critically injured. The police arrested the accused.
According to rescue sources, the culprit, Muhammad Jamil, resident of Madina Town area of Faisalabad, doused his wife, Ishrat Bibi, with petrol and set her on fire after an quarrel.
The neighbours heard the commotion and rushed her to Allied Hospital Faisalabad. According to hospital sources about 60 percent of her body was burnt.
The police arrested the accused who claimed that his wife attempted to commit suicide and he did not set her on fire.
