ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi after hearing the arguments from both sides rejected former president Pervez Musharraf’s bail petition in the judges’ detention case, Geo News reported.
During the hearing, Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer argued that if there was any order issued for judges’ detention then it should be produced in the court.
While Prosecutor Aamir Nadeem said that Pervez Musharraf detaining 60 judges including the chief justice stopped them from performing their duties and later former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani ordered for their release, which proves that they were detained and stopped from working. He further said it’s a terrorism case against Pervez Musharraf and the bail could not be granted in a crime liable for punishment of 10 years imprisonment.
