LAHORE: The first session of the Punjab Assembly has been convened for June 1 and Governor Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood has signed the summary in this regard, Geo News reported.
According to details, newly elected members of the provincial legislature would swear-in in the first session.
Provincial Secretary for Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Abul Hasan Najmi told Geo News that the session of Punjab Assembly has been summoned on June 1 at 10:00 am.
According to sources, Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mohammad Iqbal would chair the assembly session, after which separate sessions would be called to elect speaker and deputy speaker of the house.
Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi had earlier said that CM-in-waiting Shahbaz Sharif would take oath on June 6.
