ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has taken suo moto notice of the Gujrat van tragedy and has summoned Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General Punjab and the school administration in this regard on June 4.
At least eighteen children aged between five and fifteen, along with one teacher were killed when a fire erupted in a school van carrying students to school Jinnah Public School in the Mangowal area of Gujrat from the city’s Kunjah neighbourhood.
The fire erupted in the vehicle when the children were only a few kilometres from their school.
