QUETTA: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Tuesday discharged the bail petition of former president Pervez Musharraf in the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case here, Geo News reported.
President Pervez Musharraf had earlier filed a petition for bail before arrest in the ATC Court on which the court had reserved its decision yesterday.
Quetta ATC Court during the hearing today in a short decision announced discharging the petition of Pervez Musharraf’s bail before arrest. Relevant detail judgment of the court will be made public later.
Talking to media after the court decision, complainant Jamil Akbar Bugti’s lawyer Sohail Rajput said that Pervez Musharraf’s petition has been discharged on basis of its being prior to the investigation. He said that the court’s decision augured well, as it would further strengthen the confidence of the people in the court. He strongly hoped that the court would punish Pevez Musharraf and other nominated accused.
Earlier yesterday, ATC Court had ordered for the issuance of non-bailable warrants of arrest of Pervez Musharraf, Shaukat Aziz, Ovais Ghani and Abdul Samad Lasi.
