KARACHI: Protestors took to the streets against continuing lawlessness and firing in parts of Lyari. The protestors blocked Mauripur Road causing a massive traffic jam, Geo News reported.
Long queues of vehicles stuck in the traffic jam were visible on both tracks for hours on Wednesday morning. Traffic police appealed to the public to avoid Mauripur road and use alternate routes including Mirza Adam Khan road, ICI bridge and Lea market.
The protestors turned violent and started pelting stones, following which the police used Water cannons and tear gas along with aerial firing to disperse the crowds, ending the protest and reopening both tracks on Mauripur road.
