LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain Tuesday strongly condemned the deadly bomb blast during a funeral prayer in Sher Garh area of Mardan, which resulted in the deaths of 28 people.
In a statement issued here Hussain said that brutal and ruthless terrorists are continuously targeting mosques, shrines, tombs, educational institutes, government buildings, and personals of security forces including the innocent citizens in markets, boulevards and roads to accomplish their heinous motives but there is no one to apprehend these terrorists.
Expressing profound grief over the killing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Imran Mahmmand and several others, Altaf demanded that such elements should be brought to justice and given exemplary punishment to stop their inhuman, dastardly, and cowardly activities of terrorism. .
Hussain said that these terrorists cannot be termed Muslims as they targeted the innocent worshipers who were attending and offering the funeral prayer.
"It is the prime responsibility of the law enforcement agencies to bring the cruel perpetrators to book and gives them an exemplary punishment."
Hussain condoled with the bereaved family of MPA Imran Mahmmand and other grieving families who lost their loved ones in the attacks and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He prayed for the divine forgiveness for all those killed in the blast.
He also prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and give patience and fortitude to the grief stricken families to bear this irreparable loss.
Hussain urged the President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mohamed Nawaz Sharif, federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar, and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa to take stern notice of the attack.
