GHOTKI: Allama Iqbal Express train on way from Lahore to Karachi came to a standstill as its engine suddenly failed at a place in between Mirpur Mathelo and Dharki on Wednesday near here, Geo News reported.
Railway sources said that the engine of Allama Iqbal Express train broke down at a place in between Mirpur Mathelo and Dharki causing great inconvenience to the passengers in this hot, humid and suffocating climate.
Meanwhile, the train traffic on the down track has also been suspended and as such the Punjab-Karachi Tezgam has been detained at Walhar station, while Millat Express at Dharki and Business Class at Reti railway stations.
Railway sources said that an alternate engine has been called for the Allama Iqbal Express for taking the passengers to their destinations and getting the down track cleared for the detained trains at different stations.
