PESHAWAR: Security forces killed two commanders belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in a search operation in Matni, a suburban area of Peshawar, while a policeman was martyred and another injured.

Security forces and police launched a joint operation in Shaikh Nullah, a neighbourhood in Matni.

According to security sources, the two TTP militants killed in an exchange of fire during the operation were commanders of the banned outfit. They were later identified as Roohul Amin and Adnan alias Burera.

Sources added that a cop was martyred and another sustained wounds. The injured policeman was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

Roohul Amin was wanted for involvement in a number of terrorist acts in Peshawar and adjoining areas, the sources added.
