PM Nawaz chairs CCI meeting on power policy

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Council of Common Interest (CCI) chaired by the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif deliberating on the five-year power policy is in progress over here, Geo News reported.

The five-year power policy envisages completely ending loadshedding in the country by 2017.

The chief ministers of all the four provinces, Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar and other concerned ministers are also present in the meeting.

Prior to CCI meeting, the prime minister had a separate meeting with the four chief ministers and exchanged views of country’s political and law and order situations obtaining in the provinces, while the new power policy also came under discussion.

PM Nawaz Sharif on this occasion said that all the political parties would have to make collective efforts for strengthening the democracy in the country.
