According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Imran Shaukat, though a Ferozabad Police Station mobile gave the fleeing attackers a close chase, but they managed to escape abandoning their weapons and motorcycle.
"The bike used in the crime and weapons are now in police custody. We will trace the person the motorcycle was registered to", he added
"Police went after the attackers but they disappeared in the narrow streets of a residential areas"
The stationhouse at which the attack was carried out is contiguous to police line area which houses many senior officials including SSP Umer Khattab.
SSP Khattab later claimed the explosive device was planted outside the boundary wall of his official residence.
The blast also caused damage to several vehicles.
